In Memory of Marisa Dinardo Schorpp

Marisa Dinardo Schorpp was 38 years old and from White Plains, NY.

Marisa worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

On Monday, September 10, 2001, Marisa went out to dinner to celebrate her mother's birthday. Marisa did not have to travel far to join the party. She hosted a group of six at Windows on the World, a few floors up from her office in the North Tower. "Mom, I have you at the top of the world", Marisa told her mother.

"We ordered great wine and food, danced and laughed until 1:30 a.m.," said her brother Harley. "She said she had to be back at 8.15 that morning for a meeting."

At 8.46am on September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the northern facade of the North Tower. The damage caused to the North Tower destroyed any means of escape at the impact zone or above it. All stairwells and elevators from the 92nd floor up were rendered impassable

A year later, Marisa's heavily damaged and charred pocketbook was returned to her family. The contents within her recovered bag included various credit cards, a Blockbuster card, ID cards, and the receipt from the celebratory dinner at Windows on the World from the evening before in honor of her Mother's birthday.

Marisa was never found.

  2. I wish you could see me now-- it's been so long. I want to take electives so I can someday follow in your footsteps and finding a friendship like you and my dad had. I wish I knew more about what happened but Mom and Dad don't talk about it. Either way, We love you, Mouse.

  7. Marissa was a friend and colleague from a company we worked together at prior to Cantor Fitzgerald. I always remember how her spirit matched her beauty and how she was always willing to help. My heart was broken when I learned she was lost in this tragedy. May she rest peacefully in God's Eternal Love. Continued Prayer for her family. #LoveNeverDies! 🙏🏾

  8. Its such a horrible thing, what has happened on 9/11... Her mother must be saddened when her birthday comes because it was the day before her daughter died. Terrorist have to have some feeling of sorrow for what they did on 9/11, 15 years ago... The death of nearly 3,000 people was horrible. May the 9/11 event be part of Americas history forever. Rest In Peace Marisa, and may God be with you and your family.

  9. Just seen your brother on TV pay tribute to you and I wanted to send my love and respect to someone who seems to have been a great big sister and an inspiring person. I am sorry you were there that day and that so many people died or were hurt. 9/11 has left such a hole in the world, it is felt every year even here in England. I can only imagine the pain of all the families affected. God received you all with much love that day and I hope that is a comfort at least xx

  11. I just saw a 911 show on TV and saw the pain in your husband, just know that there are many people praying for the families and the their great loss of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives and friends. Let us all show strength and resolution when facing evil and show that love and compassion will overcome.
