In Memory of Karol Ann Keasler

Karol Ann Keasler was 42 years old and from New York, NY. (Born: Tucson, Arizona).

Karol worked for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. on the 89th floor in the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

On September 11, 2001, Karol's mother spoke to her daughter for the final time. She called Karol after the first plane had hit the North Tower. "Mom I'm sorry I was going to call you" said Karol. As they spoke, the second plane hit Karol's building. The call was disconnected.

A bone in Karol's foot was found in the months after 9/11 and identified via breakthrough technology, 10 years later.

"When you lose your child, there's never any closure," she said. "It has no beginning, it has no end."

  1. One of our friends at the memorial said that Karol always wanted to be famous and that now, in a tragic way, she is. I wish her family all the love that the world can offer. I miss Karol's quirky, wonderful personality. Kisses, Lynn

  2. Karol was the event planner at KBW, and she was VERY, VERY good at it. KBW had incredibly wonderful events. I remember at the time thinking she was like a secret weapon for KBW.

She sat on the trade floor, so she was always in constant contact with everyone, which was good because she always seemed extremely extroverted -- talking and laughing with everyone, all the time.

The pictures the memorials show of her now always make me chuckle a little bit, though. They're so elegant. I'm guessing they're from a few years earlier, because when I knew her she had short hair, spiked straight up, and dyed a platinum blonde.
